Flooding has occurred in Fermoy on this Friday afternoon (August 2nd) as a result of what appears to be a major pipe burst.

Significant water has lodged on Emmet Street, outside St Colman’s College, with damage to the road at Kevin Barry Hill which has seen closures while the issue is being investigated.

Kevin Barry Hill and the Library Car Park have seen significant surface water due to the issue, with water lodging at Pearse Square and further down MacCurtain Street.

Uisce Éireann have stated online that repairs are underway to a burst watermain in the town.

“Crews are working to restore supply as soon as possible. We recommend that you allow 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return,” the service provider said.
