Reeling in the years! Glanworth Macra members, pictured at the Avondhu Macra Dinner Dance many moons ago… No doubt many members will be in The Firgrove Hotel this weekend.

Macra na Feirme is celebrating their 70th anniversary this year and in order to mark the occasion, there will be a Macra Reunion Dance this Saturday night, 23rd August in The Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown.

The event will include a drinks reception at 7pm followed by a four-course meal at 8pm. A band and a DJ will then provide music until the late hours.

Mary Twomey-Casey of the Irish Farmers' Association and a past member of Glanworth Macra, will be a guest speaker on the night, along with Kieran O’Dowd, National President of Macra na Feirme. Tickets cost €30 and can be booked by calling Caitríona on 086-3760487 or Maria on 086-3653484.

As there is only a limited amount of tickets still available, anyone interested in attending should book their place as soon as possible in order to avoid missing out on what is sure to be a brilliant night.
