Lotto players are giving themselves a chance of scooping €13,300 as a result of last Thursday night’s jackpot not being won. This is a lot of money and would greatly enhance any bank balance. Our club lotto is consistently well supported and wouldn’t be the success it is without a dedicated team of sellers.

Last week’s numbers were: 01, 08, 13 and 20. There was no winner. The lucky dips went to Dan Dennehy, Dromtarriff (€50); Maurice Jacob, c/o EPS, Mallow (€50); May McCormack, Kilworth (€25) and Denis Condon, Kilworth (€25). The club also acknowledges the assistance of Christy and Geraldine of The Swallow Inn who host the lotto every Thursday night. We’re also grateful to Tom Fitzgerald and Declan Condon of EPS who print out the results posters every week without fail.

AGM

The adult club’s AGM takes place on Saturday, 7th Dec at 8pm.

Juvenile AGM

The following is a report on the AGM of Araglin Juvenile GAA submitted by outgoing secretary, Tony Hyland: Araglin Juvenile GAA recently held its AGM recently. A fair-sized attendance was present to review the past year and to look ahead to 2014. A busy schedule of matches catered for all age groups under the banner of Kilara Og. Finals were reached at U12 level and a number of blitzes won. A dedicated group of coaches gave of their time to impart their knowledge to the eager youngsters throughout the year. Overall, a successful first year for this amalgamation. Denis Twomey, secretary of the Avondhu Board took the chair for the election of officers with the following returned: chairman, Alan Hegarty; vice chairman Mike Hynes; secretary Brendan Carey and assistant secretary Tony Hyland. Parents will be notified shortly of an important Kilara Og meeting with a view to getting the new season up and running.

NOTICE TO PLAYERS

It’s probably no harm to mention that from 1st January 2014 all Gaelic footballers (regardless of age group or level) will have to wear an approved mouth guard (gum shield). Some will find the adjustment easier than others so the advice to players is to start thinking about what needs to be done. The most effective course of action for adult players is to visit your dentist who will be able to take a mould of your teeth before supplying you with a perfectly fitting mouth guard.

COMMUNITY COUNCIL DRAW

The public are reminded that tickets are now on sale for the Araglin Community Council Christmas draw. This is their most important fundraiser of the year and your support would be appreciated. The draw takes place in Christy’s on Sunday, 22nd December.
