In many instances the annual school sports day has fallen by the wayside - not so in Anglesboro N.S., who have staged this popular event for the last 40 years. Even for those who have long since left their school days behind them, 'the sports' still conjour up memories of sunshine, medals, great craic and the countdown to the summer holidays.
The 40th anniversary school sports in Anglesboro took place on Wednesday, 3rd June last. In keeping with people's memories, the evening was balmy, a great array of medals were distributed, the craic was mighty and it won't be long before the youngsters are 'off school'.
