Galbally GAA were the main organisers of a successful concert held in the local community centre on Saturday night, February 7th.

This was an occasion for local talent to shine and parishioners didn't disappoint. John Kiely and Eoin Bourke shared MC duties and every participant was given a rousing welcome by the good sized crowd.

Dave Mulcahy was on hand to assist with sound and overall, the show ran very smoothly. The concert was very diverse and covered a multitude of genres from traditional Irish music to contemporary rap.

Patrons were also invited to support the interval raffle and they did so in substantial numbers - an array of attractive hampers and prizes were distributed.

As with any club, finance is never off the agenda and thanks to a community effort, this event returned a profit, which is good news for hardworking treasurer John Magner, and his fellow top table officers, Declan Hickey (chairman) and Henry Martin (secretary).

The trio are very appreciative of the great support they continue to receive from members of the public and local businesses - without this assistance, the club wouldn't survive.

As we work our way through February, the Gaelic games scene is starting to get into its stride and with a concerted effort, Galbally's footballers can look forward to a long and hopefully, successful season.
