As the 2013 Spring/Summer collection was launched in The Wardrobe, almost 100 people flocked into the Mitchelstown boutique to see some of the new outfits being worn by local models.
Since Deirdre O'Sullivan started running her in-house fashion shows last year to showcase her new collections, they have become somewhat of a social highlight for her customers, while giving them the opportunity to see how different outfits can be teamed with various accessories to give them a new look.
With a wine reception, there was a great informal atmosphere, with many treating it as a social night out and Deirdre said that the bi-annual event gives her the opportunity to give something back to her customers.
She runs the shows in Spring and Autumn to coincide with new collections for the seasons and she thanked the local models, Lizzie Dineen for doing photographs, Caitriona Dineen for kindly doing the make up and Jack Fitzgerald for giving people tickets at the door to enter them into the draws that took place on the night.
Deirdre explained that this is something different and fun, but it also gives people the chance to see outfits on someone, instead of on a hanger.
"It shows people how to team looks with different accessories to make them unique. The whole idea is to let people see what is available in the shop and it's also an appreciation night for customers. By adding a scarf or a different coloured blazer or cardigan, an outfit that has been worn before can look completely different," she told The Avondhu.
On the night, each model showcased four different outfits and as Deirdre talked through each element of the outfits, people got to see a variety of looks suitable for weddings, christenings, Communions, Confirmations or less formal wear for casual nights out, summer events or work wear.
The Wardrobe look forward to their next event in October and wish to thank everyone who helped in the lead up to the night and Deirdre wants to thank everyone who came along.
