Following the record sell out of his book 'Kilclooney Wood and Peter O'Neill-Crowley' in just a month, Micheál Ó h-Aonghusa has now released the book online in eBook format.

The book was launched on November 25 last year and had sold out by Christmas and while there was a lot of demand for further printing, Micheal decided against it, as the cost of production for a small print run was a factor that had to be considered.

"I was shocked that it sold out and in such a short time. I couldn't believe it and I was stunned by the fact that 150 turned up to the launch in TO Park," he said.

Once the costs of producing the book were covered, there was a surplus of €430, which Micheál donated to the Molaige, Shraherla, Kilclooney Historical Group to help them to defray the cost of the beautiful viewing platform, which they erected on the Knockanevin Road, overlooking Kilclooney Wood.

The book is now available to download for Kindles, tablets, laptops, PC's or smart phones and people should download the free Kindle App so that they can read the book, once it has been purchased.

It is available for €7.99 or the sterling or dollar equivalent from www.amazon.co.uk or from www.kilclooneywood.com.

Micheal told The Avondhu that this will mean that people from anywhere in the world will now be able to read it and it would make a lovely Christmas present for those who are living away from home and would be interested in a story of strong local interest.

"I never expected to be making it into an eBook, it was far from eBooks I was reared, but now people anywhere in the world will be able to get a copy," he said.

Micheál also recently learned that a book on the same subject was published in 1882. Written by James F O'Regan, the small book of just 91 pages, 'The Story of Kilclooney Wood: or, 'The Fate of Peter O'Neill-Crowley' is not available in any Irish libraries.

As Micheál is hoping to track down a copy, he is appealing to the readers of The Avondhu to help him to source a copy and any help would be much appreciated.
