Lismore ‘saddened and shocked’ as former postman and community stalwart passes away

There was great sadness on Saturday, as locals in Lismore heard of the death of retired postman and community stalwart, Joe Tobin.

Joe was one of 15 children born in Janeville, Kilwatermoy and moved to Lismore when he got married and has since been a key member of the Lismore community, being described as a ‘dynamo of community service’.

A plumber by trade, Joe gave 37 years of service as a postman in Lismore, delivering his last letter on March 22, 2019.
