While Sunday September 8 didn't bring with it any victory for Cork or Clare in the hurling All-Ireland, it brought a cup back to Ballylanders for the ladies football team, as they won the county Limerick intermediate ladies football final.

The girls beat off stiff competition from Feoghanagh, Castlemahon from West Limerick, beating them 2-11 to 1-08.

Team member and primary school teacher in Ballygiblin NS, Aoife Gallahue had her hard work recognised in school on Friday last, as the parents' association and staff members had arranged for baked goods to be brought in so that the class, and of course Aoife, could have a little party to celebrate the win.

By pure chance, Aoife had also brought the cup and her jersey in that day and it was a great chance for her students in first class to feel like they were a part of the game and the win for the Ballylanders players!
