Questions are being asked about a light that is shining atop Corrin Cross outside Fermoy, after local man Jim Owers described the work as a “desecration”.
Mr Owers told The Avondhu that he had been away from home for some weeks, and upon returning and taking a walk early on Wednesday morning, at about 6.30am he observed a light emanating from Corrin Cross.
Upon investigating, he discovered a solar panel fixed to the stone cross “rather crudely, where it now hangs precariously from its fittings.”
Posts online show the solar panel visible on the cross since at least August 16th.
