Fianna Fail TD Kevin O’Keeffe is very much still settling into his role as Deputy in Dail Eireann and he took some time out of his hectic schedule to chat to this Avondhu journalist about his priorities as a TD.
He said that one of the biggest changes from the transition of county councillor to TD is that the workload has intensified.
One of the main issues of the day is mortgages and people in negative equity.
“Banks need to show more leniency. That’s something we are trying to push through and that people won’t be evicted from their homes overnight,” he said. He added that soaring rent costs are putting even more pressure on people.

Bringing life back into and rejuvenating town centres is another top priority for Deputy O’Keeffe.
