The Kilworth & Araglin Gymkhana was staged at a new venue in Kilworth last Sunday. On what was a perfect afternoon for showjumping, a fine crowd gathered in Ballynalacken (home to Kilworth & Araglin Point-to-Points) to see a variety of competitions in numerous classes.

The venue proved ideal with plenty of room for competitors, ample parking and easy entry/exit. For this organisers are very grateful to landowner, Mr Denis Joyce.

While Seamus Condon, Mary O'Donoghue and Sean Moher did a lot of planning and preparation, the event wouldn't have been possible without the input of volunteers who manned the road, directed traffic, oversaw parking, took entries and provided catering facilities.

As seems to be the norm for these events young boys and girls make up a sizable portion of participants and spectators were treated to excellent displays from some very talented up and coming riders. Locally, the gymkhana scene is strong with Araglin Pony Club to the fore in promoting good horsemanship.

The feedback from visitors was very favourable with people having lots of positive things to say about how the event was run. Well done to everyone concerned.
