After a very cold and wet spring, summer is nearly upon us. The evenings are getting longer and gardeners are out digging and planting. Flowers and vegetable seedlings are beginning to flourish.

The next Killavullen Farmers’ Market will be held on the Saturday, April 27th. It will run from 10.30 until 1pm and every second Saturday thereafter. The farmers’ market is an important and vibrant part of our community. It provides local food and produce such as fresh vegetables in season, herbs, flowers, cheese, preserves, oils and soaps, baking, bread, organic dried foods, knitting and second hand books. The market will increasingly play an important role in supplying us with local food and produce.

The market hosts lovely events during the year such as the arts and harvest festivals, pumpkin and vegetables competitions. Come to the market and enjoy a Fairtrade cuppa with us at the Killavullen market – it’s local, it’s fun and it’s good for the planet. Roadworks are still in place on the N72, follow the detour signs to the Nano Nagle Centre.
