Kilfinane was buzzing with an electric festival atmosphere, as thousands of people descended on the South Limerick village for last weekend's Rocky Mayhem festival as well as the European mountain biking championships.

Chairperson of Kilfinane Community Council, Tommy O'Sullivan, said that the combination of the two events gave the business people of the town a great opportunity to showcase what Kilfinane has to offer.

"We are now one step closer to achieving our end goal and getting a community centre for Kilfinane," he said.

WEATHER PLAYS ITS PART

He added that they build on what the festival can offer each year and this year, with the weather being on their side, the camp site was fully booked. There was a noticeable feel good factor and festival atmosphere in the air.

The affordable prices of the tickets also made the Rocky Mayhem festival very accessible to people and there was a great mix of entertainment on offer, with a world renowned DJ, country music, rock bands, local talent and much more entertaining the crowds.

"The acts were all brilliant and everyone left with a smile on their face. The word is now out there that this is a good festival and that it's a good weekend," Tommy added.
