The Kildorrery Tidy Towns group were out in force last weekend removing the conifers adjacent to the school and across the road from the GAA grounds.
The conifers were planted some years ago and had become overgrown and out of shape, so the Tidy Towns group decided to remove them in preparation for planting up new beds during the spring.
Brendan and Barry Dunne provided the machinery to remove the conifers with the assistance of James Magner, and Tidy Towns' chairman Ted Enright and Conor Maguire gave up their day to get the work finished.
Ted Enright, Kildorrery Tidy Towns chairman, said removing the conifers was a community effort but added that it is important more people get involved for future projects.
Cllr Frank O’Flynn commended the Kildorrery Tidy Towns group on their efforts and said Ted and his team of volunteers could often be seen early morning and late at night ensuring Kildorrery was kept in tip-top shape.
