And they're off - this Friday, November 8, there will be a night at the dogs in Cork to raise money for Kildorrery Community Development Association and Kildorrery GAA.
This is the first time that the two organisations have organised a joint benefit night and they hope that people from Kildorrery and further afield will support it, as it promises to be a great night out and a family friendly event.
The community development association will be putting any funds raised towards developing the car park behind the community office, while the GAA club will be putting anything raised towards a spectator stand, which is in Phase 2 of their grounds development project.
Adult tickets for the night cost €10 and include access to the races in Curraheen Park, plus a race programme and inclusion in a draw for a weekend away. There will also be a raffle on the night with numerous prizes on offer, including Newbridge jewellery and a television.
Juveniles (U12) will be admitted free of charge and juvenile tickets (12-18) will be available for €5 at the track.
Tickets for the night at the dogs are still available in all retail outlets, in the community office and from members of the development association or GAA.
A bus to the event will leave O'Sullivan's Centra in Kildorrery at 6.30pm sharp on Friday night and tickets for the bus are €8 for adults and €5 for juveniles.
