Young Fermoy woman Kelly Mongan is busy in rehearsals this week, preparing for her big moment - singing in the live shows in The Voice competition on RTE on Sunday night. While Kelly couldn't reveal the song that was chosen for her to sing by her coach Kian Egan when she spoke to The Avondhu this week, she says she likes the song very much and it's one that people will know.

Kelly is up in Dublin for the week and was in rehearsals on Monday and is due to practice the song again on Thursday and Friday. "It's coming together well," she revealed. While she had no nerves at that stage, Kelly said she expects she'll get them before Sunday night's all-important performance.

GREAT SUPPORT

She's buoyed up by the support she's received from the people of Fermoy town and area. There's been lots of well wishers. In addition, local shops and businesses, including SuperValu, Toss Bryan's and Orla Mellerick, have rowed in with sponsorship and help in displaying her posters. "They've been great and I'd really like to thank them," she said. Now Kelly just needs the support of townspeople and Avondhu area residents when it comes to the voting on Sunday night.
