Corrin has been a place of worship for generations and the Cross that overlooks the hill is a permanent reminder of our Christian heritage.

The Cross and the Stations of the Cross that are located in Corrin, Fermoy are maintained by the Corrin Cross committee - a small but dedicated group of volunteers. The passing of the late Paddy Butler was a serious blow, however, the group are determined that his legacy should continue and in recent times the committee has been rejuvenated under the chairmanship of well known community activist, William Hughes from Clancy Street in Fermoy. Assisting William are Mairead Scannell (secretary), Norahanne Soe, John Barry, David Roche, Dick Caplice, Maria Murphy, Patrick Manning, Fr. Damian Lynch and Mick Sheehan.

CONTINUING THE GOOD WORK

According to William the passing of Paddy Butler prompted him to get involved with the committee.

"Corrin meant a huge amount to Paddy and I think the least we can do is continue his good work".

William also paid tribute to the work done by the now deceased Jim Casey (Castlelyons), Con Hartnett (Clondulane) and Michael Kennedy (Ballyhooly), who he described as exceptionally committed individuals.
