Fermoy’s Johnny Delaney was one of just 14 Centra employees throughout the country to be honoured at the second annual Pride of Centra Awards ceremony, which took place in Croke Park earlier this month.

The Pride of Centra Awards were established last year to recognise and acknowledge Centra employees throughout the country who go above and beyond their duties and responsibilities.

Johnny has spent most of his life working in retail and has been with the Herlihy’s Centra Fermoy team since 2008. He recent celebrated his 80th birthday and he shows no signs of slowing down. He is loved by everyone in the community and he brings a great enthusiasm and sense of fun to his work.

Commenting on the awards, Ian Allen, Centra sales director, said: “Recognising the commitment and dedication of our employees is extremely important to us as we understand the value they bring to the business. All should be extremely proud of what they do each and every day. The enthusiasm they bring to their job is not just noticed internally but it is also noticed by the community, making a real difference to people’s lives.”

Johnny and the other finalists also received a special stadium tour of Croke Park.
