Fianna Fáil Cork East TD James O’Connor has announced the news of a new 48-bed block extension for Mallow General Hospital, which on Friday received funding from the Government and was given the greenlight by the HSE.
“This is a significant vote of confidence in Mallow Hospital and healthcare across Cork County and the North Cork region and its health facilities. Mallow General Hospital has a critical role to play for the future of healthcare in rural Ireland.
“This expansion will allow for improvement on the level of elective procedures carried out at the hospital,” Deputy O’Connor told The Avondhu.
Deputy O’Connor has also been working alongside local Fianna Fáil councillors who have worked tirelessly to see such developments in the area.
