James Devonshire wins Sean Caplice U21 Snooker Tournament

In what was a very tough final, James Devonshire eventually claimed the Sean Caplice Munster House U21 snooker tournament in Fermoy snooker hall.

The finals of the Sean Caplice Munster House U21 snooker tournament were held in Fermoy snooker hall recently - the well supported annual memorial tournament for the late Sean Caplice RIP - whose family run the well known Munster House on Patrick Street, Fermoy.

The club were delighted to have Michael Caplice and his daughter Michelle present on the night to present the prizes to the winner, James Devonshire who played a very tough final to beat Robert Broderick 2-1. Robert in turn had a very good win over Liam Dorgan in the semi-finals. Cathal Hayes was the other beaten semi-finalist.

Michael Caplice of the Munster House said that the club facilities were excellent and that the Caplice family were delighted to be in a position to continue to sponsor this tournament in memory of his late brother, Sean Caplice RIP.

Ken Butterworth treasurer of the club thanked Michael and his daughter for presenting the prizes on the night and for the Caplice family's continued support.

The names are now been taken for the Matt Flood Cup Easter tournament, with the draw taking place on Sunday night, 29th March in the snooker club at 8pm. This tournament is open to all members and entry fee is only €3 - all matches will be handicapped and all first round matches will have to be played by Sunday, 5th April.

MEETING

The next senior committee meeting will take place in the club on Sunday night, March 29th at 7pm sharp - all committee members are asked to attend.
