The good news for those promoting classical music is that there’s growing interest in the genre. Perceived in some quarters as ‘elitist’, this is some way off the mark, as Ireland has always had a fondness for music that has its roots in the European capitals.
The Church of Ireland building in Doneraile (St. Mary’s) played host to a very successful concert last Friday night, headlined by the talented Jablokov brothers, Anton and Vladimir.
This wasn’t the siblings first visit to north Cork and they now view Doneraile as a kind of classical music hotspot.
