Photographs can make time stand still and the beautiful images captured by participants from the Ballyhoura Towards Occupation programme have done just that, as the arresting landscapes sweep people back to a time of tranquillity and bliss and provide them with an escape from their daily life.

The photographs are on display as part of the 'Spiritual Landscapes' exhibition in Mitchelstown Library, which opened on June 3 and runs until June 27 and there are ten photographs by participants from the wellness workshop programme, which explores how environments affect health and well being.

Employment Officer for Ballyhoura Development, Kate Lennon said that the programme helps people who have been unemployed to boost their confidence, learn new skills and work on their own personal development.

She said that she was delighted with how the programme went and how well some of the participants took to photography, which was totally new to many of them.
