Halloween and fireworks, it’s the same old story. Evidence of the yearly ‘tradition’ is already in evidence around Mitchelstown, as a number of used and discarded fireworks have been spied in the basketball court by Árd Mhuilinn in Ballinwillin.
This year, as before, reminders are being made again by the fire brigade, by the ISPCA, and the Department of Justice on the harm that illegal fireworks do.
The noise frightens livestock, pets and people, and in some cases animals can get disorientated and run from home, which is both a terrifying experience for the animal and a worry for their owners.
