The second Irish Make-Up Awards 2019 welcomed 400 guests to the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport Hotel on Sunday, May 12 in a big celebration of the Irish make-up industry.

The talent within the make-up sector has shown no sign of shying away and some of the most successful businesses and professionals from all over the country came together on Sunday to celebrate their achievements at the Irish Make-Up Awards 2019.

The winners are chosen by members of the Irish public and they are a true reflection of the talent, creativity and impeccable customer service- three key features that enhance the reputation of the Irish make-up industry nationally and internationally.

The glamorous night was hosted by Andrea Hayes, who gave away 14 amazing awards to the deserving winners.

Several of the awards were split into local regions to ensure the diverse establishments from across Ireland are recognised for their exceptional work.

The competition was fierce but iFlutter in Mitchelstown won both regional and the National Award for Lash Extension Specialist of the year category and took the trophy home.

‘Still in shock’

Vicky Ahern, owner of iFlutter went on to say: “I’m absolutely delighted and still in shock that I won at the Irish Make Up Awards last night. Not only did iFlutter win regional but also won the overall National award for Eyelash Extension specialist of the year. Thanks to my clients for supporting me and making my business a success and thanks to Shan and Debbie for all their hard work, and to everyone that travelled with me to support me on the day.”

A spokesperson of the Irish Make-Up Awards said: “We are very delighted to have welcomed such great finalists and winners at the second Irish Make-Up Awards. It was a very inspiring night dedicated to those who have spent their whole career in making people look beautiful.

“The make-up industry plays a vital role in the Irish economy and we are honoured to see that our attempt to acknowledge and reward the meritorious professionals of the sector has been successful. We would like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their achievements!”

The awards also provided the opportunity to fundraise for a worthwhile cause, raising money for the official charity partner, Make A Wish Ireland, who grant magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
