Orna Cogan and her hardworking team of volunteers were delighted with the response to last Saturday morning's fundraiser in aid of St Joseph's Foundation, Charleville.

Organisers stuck with a proven formula and sure enough the crowds descended on Kildorrery Parish Hall to be part of an event that incorporated a coffee morning, cake sale and bric-a-brac stalls. Everyone who passed through the door was only too willing to contribute and initial reports were that the event had been a great financial success.

It's hard to put a price on goodwill. However, it exists in huge quantities for St Joseph's Foundation who do outstanding work with people will special needs. Indeed, the families of those who avail of its services admit they wouldn't be able to cope without the foundation's care and professionalism. Critically, the foundation provides a range educational opportunities for those with special needs.

Orna Cogan has been one of the mainstays of the Kildorrery fundraiser over the years and she was thrilled with the public's response.

"We had a brilliant turnout and as always, people are so generous when it comes to St Joseph's Foundation," Orna told The Avondhu during the course of the morning. She was also anxious to thank the parish of Kildorrery, those who helped out, those who provided items for sale, those who baked and those who donated raffle prizes. She also acknowledged the contribution of Kathy Thornhill.

Amidst all the coming and going, Orna also took time to recognise the contribution of two absent volunteers from this year's fundraiser, the late Mary Bailey and the recently deceased John Walsh. Both were rock solid supporters who could always be relied upon completely.
