The HSE will soon be moving on-site at the Primary Care Centre currently being developed in Fermoy.
Swift progress has been made on the sizeable project since the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, allowing construction to go ahead once again.
It is hoped that the centre may open this year, with the HSE due to move on site soon, once construction work is finally complete.
A recent update, issued to The Avondhu by the HSE stated: “We are due to shortly begin the commissioning and equipping phase which can take in the region of six months”.
Once building works are complete at the site and the developer hands a section over to the HSE, there is a period of several months where the HSE will be fitting out the building before it becomes operational.
The €10 million project is expected to create in the region of 120 jobs at the new facility, located at the historical Mill Island site in the town centre.
