Home Instead calling on those who have the instinct to help to become professional CAREGivers in Co Cork

Home Instead, Ireland’s largest private home care provider, is calling on people who have ‘the instinct to help’ to join their team of CAREGivers in Co Cork.

January is often a time when many of us take stock and think about a change in career or lifestyle – often considering how we can do a job we love and lead a life of purpose. Professional caregiving is one such career that marries both career ambition and purpose.

The Home Instead CAREGiver role requires CAREGivers to provide home care services to older people to help them remain safe and well at home. The role not only makes a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults, but it also positively impacts the lives of CAREGivers. Career progression opportunities are supported through ongoing training with the role offering flexibility to improve work-life balance. With two Home Instead offices in Cork there are opportunities across the city and county.

Tanya Morrissey is the General Manger of Home Instead Cork North and says: “Home care is an in-demand sector and one in which we can provide both career advancement and flexibility that is individually tailored to the person. Our ‘Calling’ recruitment drive is looking for people with the ‘caring’ DNA.  We know such people have what it takes to become a Professional Home Instead CAREGiver and make fantastic CAREGivers.

“Home Instead is a values-driven organisation and our expert team is on-hand to guide anyone interested in a role through the process. We regularly celebrate our CAREGivers through award programmes, appreciation initiatives and social events. Thanks to this culture of support, our CAREGivers feel a deep sense of belonging; they are part of a caring, compassionate and winning team who make a difference in the lives of ageing adults every day.”

Professionally trained CAREGivers play an integral role in the healthcare system and are critical in keeping vulnerable and ageing people safe and well at home. New CAREGivers are provided with training through Home Instead’s Home Care Professionals Academy with access to state-of-the-art content and practical training on quality systems. CAREGivers are supported by the established teams in the Cork Offices and the national Home Instead network with many of those working in the organisation former CAREGivers themselves.

Deirdre Murray, Managing Director of Home Instead Cork South added: “The professional CAREGiver role is ideal for caring and compassionate individuals who are seeking job stability with a flexible schedule and supportive environment as well as continued opportunities for career progression.

“To become a professional Home Instead CAREGiver takes a special person and a desire to share their talents and skills with those they care for.  I would encourage anyone interested in a role to get in touch with us today.”
