Wednesday morning, 8th November, was an historic occasion for the people of Carraig na bhFear with pupils and teachers filing out of Scoil An Athar Tadhg National School and walking the short journey to the ‘new’ Scoil An Athar Tadhg.

The 5 minutes walk represented the end of a long and sometimes difficult campaign to secure a modern place of learning for one of the region’s fasting growing communities.

While its village status may be intact – for now – Carraig na bhFear has, in a short time, become a very desirable residence for young families. The good news for these parents and their children is that the place they call home is now home to a magnificent new school.
