Note that Monday, January 20 will see the opening Bluegrass concert for 2014 at The Village Arts Centre, Kilworth where John Nyhan has a great double bill in store. Patrons are asked to note that seating is strictly limited so it's important to secure your ticket early.

On stage will be the Colorado-based High Plains Tradition as well as Bluegrass/Country singer, Martin Gilmore, also from Colorado, USA.

When it comes to High Plains Tradition, who could forget their last shows in Kilworth over a weekend in October 2012?

Doug Elrick is one of the finest songwriters and mandolin players this side of the Mississippi while Ron Lynam is one of the most acomplished banjo players in the West. Steve Gilmore plays hard-driving guitar and he can hit the vocal harmonies that are the mainstay of the band. Bobby Vickery's powerful, cutting-edge voice and his stellar fiddle work brough a whole new dimension to High Plains. Kenny Pabst is the heartbeat of the band with his rock solid bass, keeping the train on track. High Plains is blessed to have five member who can all sing - one of the band's many attributes that keeps the fans coming back!

Martin Gilmore sings with his own band Long Road Home back home in Colorado but on this occasion is travelling on his own. A great voice and an equally great guitarist.

See Martin Gilmore and High Plains Tradition at The Village Arts Centre on January 20.
