A spokesperson for JR Oronco told The Avondhu this week: “We’re very, very happy with the result. I suppose it’s certainly a vindication of what we’ve been trying to do for the last three or four years so we’re delighted.”

An Bord Pleanála have given the green light to a motorway service on the outskirts of Fermoy, saying they believe the development would provide a needed facility for motorway users and would not have an unduly negative impact on the vitality of nearby retail centres.

A spokesperson for the company behind the development, Kilworth-based JR Oronco Ltd, said they are delighted with the ruling and that it is a vindication of their efforts over the last three to four years.
