Great numbers turned out on Friday last for the night at the dogs in Curraheen Park - a joint fundraising benefit night for Kildorrery GAA and Kildorrery Community Development Association.

Representatives from both organisations said that they had wonderful support on the night from the general public in the local community, people from surrounding areas and all those who purchased tickets and all of that support is greatly appreciated.

They would like to thank the sponsors who sponsored races and the many businesses and organisations who purchased adverts in the booklet.

Thanks were also extended to Ger O'Sullivan for providing the bus transport and David Dwane of Exact Signs for compiling the race cards.

Congratulations to the following who won the draw: Eamonn O'Dea, Mallow (1st prize of a weekend in Killarney), Sean O'Sullivan, Ballynouty, Kildorrery (2nd prize a voucher from John Gallagher, Clonakilty Black Pudding) and John Bailey, Mitchelstown (3rd prize of a hamper).

On the night, there were also a number of winners from the raffle. Congratulations to the following: JJ O'Driscoll, Ballyshonack, Kildorrery (36" TV), Ann Hanley, Quitrent (Newbridge ladies watch from Pauline's Gifts), Dave Dooney, Kilclooney (voucher from John Gallagher, Clonakilty Black Pudding), Mary O'Donnell, Scart, Kildorrery (voucher for Grove House in Shanballymore), Ned Fitzgerald, Castlelyons (a hamper) and B Drake (voucher for Mike's Tyres, Fermoy).

The organisers wish to thank everyone who donated prizes and a special thanks to Kathy Thornhill for her generosity.

They also thanked the ticket sellers and the business outlets who sold tickets and everyone who contributed in any way to make the event a success.
