Congratulations to Galbally RFC U13s who had a fantastic win in the U13 East Munster Rugby Shield final against Clonmel on Sunday, 7th April.

The Galbally side had topped the league and secured a home final. The pitch was in great condition thanks to the club. Despite the fact Clonmel were physically stronger and playing with the breeze in the first half, Galbally were ahead by 10 points to 7 points, thanks to very tenacious play with Ryan Tobin and Joseph Johnson scoring the first half tries.

Galbally were dominant for most of the second half and with 7 minutes remaining were 20 points to Clonmel's 14. Galbally were rampant for the remaining minutes and got a further 2 tries. The try scorers in the second half for Galbally were Joseph Johnson (2), Kyran O'Donnell and Ryan Tobin. Final score, Galbally 30 Clonmel 14.

Well done to all involved and credit to coaches Liam Dwyer, James Hayes and Des Blade. Fionn Flanagan, who is a key member of the team was unfortunately injured earlier in the season. We look forward to his return in the autumn.
