U12 Football

We played Ballylooby/Castlegrace on Monday evening at home. On a cold night this team put in a great performance with some brilliant individual play to win the game 7-09 to 4-04. Considering we were just a point up at half time, the lads kept working hard to earn a place in the semi-finals. This fixture is set for Monroe on Saturday morning at 11am against Newcastle. On Monday 15th we host Carrig Swans in the premier league so please come out and show your support for this young team.

U14 Football

We beat Ballylooby/Fr Sheehy’s last Thursday, 4th April in Newcastle to keep our wining form up. Young Dean Finn scores the best of our tally with a goal straight from the training field, it was very satisfying to see how we worked the ball from the back line showing the control and passing skills they’ve been thought. We now play Clerihan away on Thursday the 11th at 7pm. As always we leave the square at 5.45 sharp.

12 and 14 Hurling

Training is starting up again so please contact Paul Brennan, Mike McGrath or Rory McLaughlin, numbers are low and everyone is welcome.

U16

We will host Clonmel Og in Ballyporeen, Monday 15 at 7pm. Once again it would be much appreciated by the players and trainers if all parents would come out and give their support to all teams.

We’re joining forces with the ladies football club to hold a cycle day on Sunday, May 5. ‘On your bike to Bally’ will consist of 80km, 37km and a 11km cycle starting at the GAA field in Ballyporeen. €20 registration fee with BBQ and refreshments. Later that night it’s back to O’Caseys Lounge where Willie Bun will entertain us long into the night.

Congratulations to James Hackett who played corner back with the U15 South Development hurling team and Josh Macken who played full-forward on the U14 team. Always good when we have players representing our club at county level.

Gumshields are compulsory please make sure you have them with you, as you will not be allowed play without them.

Will all players please make sure you are paid up with your membership, this is very important with our insurance. You can check with your trainers or contact Miriam Macken.
