In a very convincing dry run, popular Fermoy personalities, Mark Kenny and Linda Quirke were joined in matrimony last Saturday following an elaborate ceremony hosted by local publican, Kevin Corcoran of TJ Goodtymes' fame.
This fundraising wedding came complete with suits, wedding dress, bridesmaids, floral arrangements and chauffeur driven limousine. Several regulars were auditioned for the priestly role with Timothy Flynn eventually getting the nod. Better known as 'Timmy Raz', the former publican, deejay and boxing coach earned rave reviews for his performance.
"I gave it my best shot. I wouldn't normally be nervous but the pressure was on to get it right and I don't think I've ever smoked more," Timmy said afterwards.
Despite the father of the bride 'arming' himself for the big day, the mock wedding which required weeks of planning turned out to be a spectacular success.
According to Kevin Corcoran people really entered into the spirit of the occasion.
"Everyone involved did a fantatic job and reaction to it has been brilliant," Kevin said.

Organisations that benefited from the wedding included Marymount Hospice, Meals on Wheels and Avondhu Boxing Club.
