A golf classic organised by friends and work colleagues of the late Pat Fenton has raised €11,244.54. This substatial cheque was presented to Enable Ireland representative, Miriam Gallagher, in Fermoy Golf Club last Friday night.

Accepting the donation, Miriam said great credit was due to members of The Abbey Golf Society for the time, effort and commitment they put in preparing for and hosting the classic.

She went on to explain that the money raised would go towards the creation of a sensory room at the Enable Ireland premies in Eastgate, Little Island – the facility would be formally known as The Padraig Fenton Sensory Room, in memory of Pat Fenton’s son Padraig, who benefitted enormously from the expertise of Enable Ireland staff.

All those involved in the classic were thanked with special mention going to Pat’s employer McMahon’s, who came on board as the main sponsor.

Fermoy Golf Club were also acknowledged for the excellent job they did hosting the event.
