Saturday the 20th July is the date for the golfing enthusiast’s diary. Teams of 3 players are now open to enter with €90 per team the entry fee. The format will be 3 ball scramble and the first tee time will be 11am. Teams wishing to enter should ring John on 087-9630461 or Gus on 086-3685033 to book their slot ASAP, closing date for entries Thursday 18th July.

This golf outing is kindly sponsored by A Touch of Luxury and Divine Tiles and Bathrooms Fermoy with Lismore Golf Club completing the set of sponsors. Longest drive and nearest the pin prizes also on the day. This promises to be a great day out with a number of prizes up for grabs and all proceeds going toward the Sheila Flynn Park development fund. We would ask all teams/players wishing to enter to do so ASAP as we must furnish Lismore Golf Club with final numbers to arrange post match meal which is included in the team entry fee. A limited numbers of teams will be allowed so get in early to avoid disappointment.

Summer camp

Last week we clarified the dates for the annual summer camp will be July Mon 15th to Thursday 18th. The camp will run for four days, 10am to 2pm each day and is open to boys and girls aged 6 and over and will cost €50 for the four days of fun, events and basic soccer skills, drills and games. All participants will receive a full crested kit including jersey, togs, socks and kit bag on completion of the camp. Enjoy everyone!

Next week’s jackpot €2,350. Draw will take place in The Village Inn at 9pm sharp. Tickets on sale locally for 1.50 and as always all support is very much appreciated.

Sheila Flynn Park Update

Some documentation back from the council re plans and submissions. These will need to be taken on board and plans finalised in the coming weeks to move the process forward.

U8/U9 games

The U8s and U9s will have played their first match-style games by the time the notes are published so we will have an update next week. Hopefully the boys and girls will have enjoyed their first ever real games. Next week we are due to visit Fermoy FC for return fixture so more on this later.

Managers/coaches required

Unfortunately we can’t find coaches for this coming season to enter teams in the U8, 9, 10, or 11 age groups so, unless we get parents of children involved in the coming weeks to volunteer, we will have to dispense with the plans of entering teams in the age groups outlined. This is extremely disappointing but without parents to manage the teams, I’m afraid the club have no option but to shelve the plans for the coming season.

We have two more weeks to make final team submissions so if you can help out, please get in touch ASAP with Kevin 086-0836930. As is it stands presently, the club will enter U12 and U13 teams with U16/17 also confirmed.

SYMPATHY

A vote of sympathy was expressed to the O’Sullivan families Fermoy and Rathcormac on their recent bereavement.
