Golden anniversaries are celebrated in Kilfinane.

Congratulations and best wishes are extended to Fr Tom Ryan, Our Lady of The Rosary, Ennis Road, Limerick and Ballinlyna, who celebrated the golden jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood in June 1963. Also to Eddie and Chrissie Gleeson (Main Street) on celebrating the golden jubilee of their wedding.

FEILE na NGAEL 2013 IN KILFINANE

In glorious weather conditions Feile na nGael returned to Limerick and Blackrord Bord na nOg Club hosted Lisbellaw (Fermanagh) for the weekend who arrived after a long journey at lunchtime on Friday. In the opening game at The Michael Fox Memorial Park (which was in splendid condition for the Feile), Blackrock played the visitors and it was the visitors who emerged winners by six points 3-07 to 3-01. Both teams travelled to Pairc na nGael Limerick for the Feile Parade to O’Connell Street.

It was back to the playing pitch early on Saturday morning in Kilfinane when Lisbellaw played and defeated while Blackrock played and drew with Wolfe Tones Longford. In the afternoon, Knockainey overcame Blackrock, Lisbellew defeated Wolfe Tones giving them a place in the semi-final played on Saturday evening with Bruree. Their group comprised of Strandhill (Sligo) James Stephens (Mayo) and St Kierans (Aradgh). In a great semi-final witnessed by a fine crowd, it was Lisballew who came from behind to win and reach the final in Mungret on Sunday where they lost to Monaghan Harps.

The Team Management was: Eamon O’Keeffe, Liam Moloney, Mike Duggan (Fisrst Aid) Eamon Cleary, Mike O’Dwyer and Oliver Ryan.

OPEN DAY

Just Roses Open Day with Charlie Wilkins will be held on this Sunday afternoon commencing at 2pm with music, refreshments and 1000s of top quality Irish-grown roses, Hybrids, Floribundas, Patios Miniatures and many more as well as special occasion Roses. Alan and Jose invite to come along and enjoy a great day.

MUNSTER FINAL

Sunday will see two Limerick teams in Munster final action when the minor side meet Waterford and Cork will provide the opposition in the senior final at Pairc na nGael where many a great Munster final have been played over the years.
