Sixth class pupils at Glenville National School are preparing to move on to the exciting world of second level education. The class have soldiered together for 8 years and understandably, close bonds of friendship have built up during this time.

There's a tradition in Glenville N.S. of saying a formal farewell to departing students and this event took place in the school last Monday evening. The 19 strong class were joined by parents, relatives and teachers for what was a pleasant, but sometimes emotional occasion, for all concerned.

NEW CHAPTER AHEAD

A specially commissioned cake was cut and class members were presented with school hoodies. There was also a video presentation documenting the pupils' time in Glenville N.S. - this covered their transition from nervous junior infants to the confident individuals who are now on the cusp of a new chapter in their educational lives.

Principal, Michael O'Donnell said the students were a credit to themselves, their families and their school. He expressed confidence in their ability to do very well in their new surroundings, but urged them to maintain the friendships they'd formed and not to forget the school where they had spent their formative years.

The enjoyable party was a fitting send off for this talented and dedicated group of young people.
