Elaine Rea of Glenroe made history this year by being the first student of Scoil Pol, Kilfinane to receive a Leaving Certificate Applied National Association (LCANA) Fergal Quinn award.

These awards are presented to students who obtain the highest number of credits in the Leaving Certificate Applied Examinations for their year. The student’s final credit total is based on their performance over the two years of the senior cycle programme.

Elaine was accompanied on the day by her parents Jerry and Hannah, her sister Miriam, Mrs Elma Power LCA Co-ordinator in Scoil Pol and Ms Angie Deering, Guidance Counsellor.

On behalf of Scoil Pol, we congratulate Elaine on her achievement and wish her all the best in her studies for her chosen career in childcare.
