For the 9th consecutive year, Fiona Turley of Gallery Crafts in Kilworth has linked up with Breakthrough Cancer Research Centre to produce another collection of uniquely designed Christmas cards.

The cards have been an unqualified success and with more individuals, businesses and schools supporting the fundraiser hopes are high that this encouraging trend will continue.

Fiona and her team were sincerely thanked at last Sunday's launch by Orla Dolan of Breakthrough Cancer Research Centre who told those present that the organization she represents is at the forefront of identifying and delivering new treatments to combat the disease. Initiatives such as Fiona Turley's Christmas cards helps raise the finance necessary to allow this vital research continue she said.

The weather outside may have been frightening but this in no way deterred the crowds who gathered in Gallery Crafts for most of the afternoon. Visitors were treated to complimentary wine and Skelligs Irish made chocolates. For Fiona and her staff November and December are their busiest months and they've left no stone unturned sourcing an array of gift ideas from all over Ireland and beyond. The studio, which always looks inviting, is especially spectacular at this time of year.

Christmas cards sales last weekend were brisk with a pack of 10 retailing for €10. It's also worth noting that 100% of proceeds go directly to cancer research programmes. Further information available from www.fionaturley.com or 025-27972.
