Zeus Group, the Irish-owned global packaging solutions business founded by local Brian O’Sullivan, announced on Wednesday the acquisition of James Hamilton Group, a leading Northern Irish print and packaging business.
According to Keith Ockenden, CEO of Zeus Group, the news will mean Zeus can “expand its current offering in the food and retail packaging sector”.

With annual sales of €18 million and a dedicated team of over 120 employees, James Hamilton Group is a provider of comprehensive packaging, label production, office supplies, and personal protective equipment solutions across multiple sectors including retail, food & beverage production, logistics and distribution.
This acquisition forms the next part of Zeus Group’s 2023 growth strategy that is expected to see group revenues surpass €500 million and expands the product portfolio and service capabilities, while bringing local manufacturing expertise in printed packaging.
James Hamilton Group will continue to operate under its well-established brand, leveraging its existing manufacturing expertise and management team. Owned and founded by Fermoy resident, Brian O’Sullivan, Zeus Group has 51 locations worldwide, including Ireland, UK, Germany, Spain, Poland, Eastern Europe, New Zealand, Canada, China and Australia. Earlier this year, the company officially opened a new 70,000sq ft logistics facility in Watergrasshill. Now employing 900 people total across 26 countries worldwide and celebrating 25 years in operation, Zeus has grown at an average rate of 25% per annum since 2018. This latest acquisition will see Annualised Volumes exceed €490m.
