Shanballymore NS will host their second annual spelling bee for the North Cork and South Limerick areas in Shanballymore Community Centre on Thursday next, October 24, at 7.30pm and all are welcome.

There is no limit on the number of teams from any one school and there are two categories, one for junior (3rd and 4th classes) and one for senior (5th and 6th classes).

Last year, Castletownroche NS went away victorious with a beautiful cup for their school and the principal of Shanballymore NS, Michael O’Sullivan is hoping for a good turnout again this year.

“Last year was a fantastic success. There was a great atmosphere in the community centre and the event was enjoyed by all those who attended. The team from Castletownroche N S were victorious overall and returned home with a cup for their school. Prizes were also presented to the runners up on the night,” the principal said.

Early booking is advised, as places are limited and there is a €20 charge per team. To register before Tuesday next, October 22, call the school on 022-25611 or email shanballymorens@eircom.net. All money raised will go towards development works at the school and all support would be greatly appreciated.
