The second year of the Funcheon Vintage Club Run was a great success, raising in the region of €4,000 (and still counting) for the North Cork Cardiac Support Group.

One of the organisers, Les Harding told The Avondhu that everything went off without a hitch - there was a good turnout and the weather was favourable for the event. There were half a dozen vintage cars, up to 16 tractors and the gem of the run was a Honda 50 - a very rare find that was a star attraction.

The run also had two horses with carts - on the way out of the village, Mrs O'Sullivan's horse and cart led them out, while Martin Curtin's horse and cart escorted them into Kildorrery on the way back, before they tucked into tea and sandwiches in Walsh's.

Les said that the event went well and they hope to make it an annual event, raising money for different charities each year. He thanked everyone who contributed, the sponsors and also those who supported the run.
