Ahoy maties, there’s treasure to be found at the Bible Club Week in Fermoy in July, as little pirates will learn about the messages of the Bible through fun, games, songs and drama.
Sharon Montgomery explained that the theme of the week is ‘Land Lubbers’, as they will be working with 5-12 year olds using scenery and games associated with pirates to explain the stories of the Bible.
The week takes place in Adair Primary School at Green Hill, Fermoy from July 1-5 in the mornings between 10am and 12.30pm and it’s completely free, so that it is accessible to all.
Anyone interested in attending can register on Sunday, June 30, at a family fun day in the school from 3-5pm and there will be another family oriented event at the end of the week on Friday, July 5 with a barbecue at 7pm.
Sharon explained that there will be pirate scenery and they will be using the desert island and the search for treasure to show the children in a fun and interactive way, that there is a treasure that lasts, which is greater than silver or gold.
The children will be learning songs and will be involved in crafts which will all be tied into stories from the Bible in a way that children can relate to.
The Bible Club Week has been running for more than 10 years and they are preparing to accommodate around 100 children, so it is important to register on Sunday, June 30, as the event proves to be quite popular.
Then for the teenagers aged between 13 and 17, there will be the Fermoy Youth Week in the evenings in Adair Primary School from 7.30pm until 10pm from Monday, July 1 until Friday, July 5.
William explained that this programme aims to relate to teenagers through games, fun and dialogue.
He explained that this will be quite informal, allowing for free time for the teenagers to chill out and relax.
It would be the ideal opportunity for exam students to relax and unwind with chats, music and games and they will also get to meet other youth groups during the week. Admission is free and the Fermoy Youth Week is open to all those aged between 13 and 17.
For more information on any of the above, contact William Montgomery on 086-3729144.
