Fermoy is set to get free parking in all car parks for a month in an effort to reignite the town’s economy.
The plan was revealed at last week’s Fermoy Municipal District meeting held in Mitchelstown. It will see the facilities in the town free to the public from June 29 to August 1.
The measure was mentioned by council officials but it was dependent on the councillors agreeing to the measure.
Cllr Noel McCarthy proposed and Cllr Frank O’Flynn seconded the motion.
