Former Irish heavyweight boxing champion and Fermoy boxing supremo Michael Jordan, has weighed in on the national chorus of congratulations to Kellie Harrington, crediting her success to her ‘perfect performance’.
Michael, who was crowned national champion in 1967 aged 23 over Kildare’s Mick Collins, watched the fight last Thursday in trepidation, as he feared the fighter would get injured. His fears were unfounded, he gladly notes, as she made a flawless performance.
“When she fought in the final, she did everything perfectly. Her footwork and everything – it was perfect.”
