Fermoy bridge is due to be closed to traffic at 5pm this evening (Monday, December 30th) as flooding is expected.
With the river already very high and a further rise in level expected this evening, the flood barriers have been erected on the north side of the bridge and the south side has been sandbagged.
Earlier today storm debris, including a tree lodged at the bridge, was removed from the river to help flow.
