Since Fionn Doyle from Kildorrery was diagnosed with leukaemia, people from across the community have been rowing in to ease the financial burden for his family and the recent table quiz in The Hunters Rest was a testament to the generosity of the people from Mitchelstown and surrounding areas.
Fionn is just two and a half years old, and, although he is responding well to treatment for his leukaemia, he still has a long road ahead, as he will be in and out of hospitals until he is five and it's fundraisers like this, which make life that little bit easier for his parents Eimear and Jack.
Many families have been touched by cancer or illness in some way and the support that the Doyle and Whelan families have received has been outstanding.
The organisers were delighted with the turnout, as 26 strong teams came along to The Hunters Rest on the night to support the good cause, while many others who couldn't attend, but still contributed and they wanted to thank everyone who came along, as there were two other fundraisers that night as well.
Organisers and the Doyle and Whelan families thanked the businesses and individuals who donated spot prizes, John Hickey who made the night enjoyable and entertaining as quiz master, everyone who participated or supported the night and all those who helped in any way, as well as the staff in The Hunters Rest.
