Former Fianna Fáil TD Ned O’Keeffe has greeted the news of Bertie Ahern’s return to the party warmly, saying that the party suffered from the former Taoiseach’s loss ‘severely’.
It was announced last Wednesday that Mr Ahern had rejoined Fianna Fáil, after resigning in 2012 in the wake of the Mahon Tribunal.
Speaking with The Avondhu, Mr O’Keeffe said that he welcomed him back, and iterated his feelings that the party has, in recent years, “lost its way”.
